Moving to Florida from CT, RI, MA, NY

Moving to Florida

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released statistics showing how many people have recently moved to Florida from CT, RI, MA and Westchester County, NY.

Warmer weather, sunny skies and relaxed lifestyle are common reasons people move to Florida. Of course more pragmatic forces can also be reasons, like family needs and career path. Whatever the reason, many people make the decision to move to the Sunshine State every year. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is not concerned with the reasons for a Florida relocation — their reports simply track the change of address on income tax returns from 2009 to 2010. The IRS also reports the number of exemptions reported on the forms, suggesting the number of people involved in the relocation.

Below are some of numbers applicable to our service areas.
