Facility Capabilities

Sterling Life Science Logistics has long supported the life sciences sector with GMP storage, lab relocations, cold chain transport, and inventory management. The new Tewksbury facility builds on that foundation, adding a suite of capabilities designed to meet the industry’s highest standards for compliance, safety, sustainability, and innovation.

  • Dry GMP Storage, designed for cGMP-compliant storage of FDA-grade manufacturing materials. This area supports both raw and final product storage under tight regulatory supervision, with short- and long-term warehousing, freight forwarding, and live distribution services.
  • Cold GMP Storage, offering precise temperature control from ambient down to −192 °C for cryogenic storage of cell lines, DNA, mRNA, clinical trial materials, assay plates, and other temperature-sensitive assets. This area also includes client equipment hosting and shared structural accommodations.
  • A cGMP-compliant cold and ambient storage infrastructure featuring over 150+ monitored freezer positions with backup power and sensor tracking for 24/7 safety and regulatory assurance. Plans are underway to expand into chemical material storage by early 2026.
  • Custom temperature-controlled reefer and bio trailers with dual power supplies and real-time tracking, fully equipped to meet IATA and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for pharmaceutical and biologics transport.
  • A Digital MSDS Library and Sterling Managed Inventory (SMI) system, giving clients real-time visibility into on-site stock, automated restocking, and built-in compliance reporting.
  • Lab Facilities Support Services, including equipment setup, calibration, waste management, and lab recommissioning to support safe, seamless lab transitions.
  • Additional on-site features include Sterling Academy, a dedicated training and education space, and a secure parking area for temporary trailer storage, enabling flexibility for in-transit or staged materials.

To further support operational reliability and environmental responsibility, the facility is also equipped with a solar energy capture system and backup battery power station—reinforcing Sterling’s broader mission to deliver energy-efficient, future-forward logistics solutions.
